Flags in the Flamingo Revolution, Albania

I have noted reports of two distinctive flags that appeared in the "Flamingo Revolution" protests in Albania in June / July 2026. These are:

(1) a version of the Albanian national flag with a double-headed flamingo replacing the double-headed eagle, and the red field replaced by blue to represent the sea ("In the name of protest"/ Mocking the Albanian flag, anarchists replace it with a flamingo - Aktualitet /

(2) the use of the "Straw Hats Jolly Roger" flag in the Albanian protests (I believe this fictional (manga) flag has been used in youth-led protests in many countries. ( Straw Hats' Jolly Roger - Wikipedia)

The image mentioned above of the double-headed flamingo is just a Web graphic, although a very appropriate one. Somehow I find it hard to believe that it would result in any flags, given that it was already labelled as unpatriotic (read the source text).

On the other hand, flamingo imagery is very widespread, mostly as the painted styrofoam cutouts (a few pelicans made the same way were also noticed) or inflatable beach toys. Their use might be compared to that of the flags, but they are certainly easier to produce.

The jolly roger straw hat flag is indeed used, albeit rarely:

As far as the currently available photos reveal, the overwhelming majority of the flags are the Albanian national flags. Very few other flags have been noticed so far: flags of the European Union, several foreign national flags (those of the UK and USA), flags of the Kosovo Liberation Army and pan-Albanian nationalist flags (black flags with the map of Greater Albania painted as the Albanian national flag with the word AUTOCHTHONOUS inscribed beneath it in white), as well as the Straw Hats' Jolly Roger flags mentioned above,
but all of those are very few and might have been actually carried by the same people on different days.
